Is there an article, book, video, or resource that you need? MHIKNET clients are entitled to borrow health sciences materials (articles, journals, books, videos, etc.) as well as materials from the wider collections of the University of Manitoba Libraries.

Complete our Document Delivery Form and send it to mhiknet@umanitoba.ca or fax to (204) 789-3923

 

Articles


You can request articles by sending an email to mhiknet@umanitoba.ca.  Please include as much of the citation as you can including:

  • Author of the article
  • Title of the article
  • Date
  • Journal title
  • Journal volume and issue
  • Page numbers

If you are requesting an article you found in PubMed you can simply send us the PMID number found at the bottom of the article citation.

Articles are delivered by email or mail (if requested).

 

Books and Audio Visual


You can borrow materials for 30 days.  If you need to renew your items contact us for assistance.

Clients in the regions

Books and audio visual resources are delivered to MHIKNET clients through the mail and include return postage. Clients are responsible for following the return instructions enclosed with borrowed materials and in ensuring that materials are returned promptly. A notice will accompany your materials indicating the due date.

Manitoba Health @ 300 Carlton

Books and audio visual resources are sent directly to client's offices and can be returned by dropping them off in your nearest mailroom with "NJM Health Sciences Library" on the mailing label. Materials will be returned by courier to the Library at no cost.

 

When Can I Expect My Documents


Articles:

  • Held in the library collection will be delivered to your email in three to five working days
  • Not held in the library and/or prohibited by copyright or licence agreements will be delivered in ten working days.

Books / Audio Visual

  • Delivery depends on availability and method of delivery.

 

Suspension of Privileges


Borrowing privileges will be suspended if:
  • outstanding fines or fees exceed $20.00
  • recalled material is not returned by the due date
  • material borrowed through Document Delivery becomes overdue
  • the Registrar’s Office or an institution with which we have reciprocal borrowing privileges block you
